Backward Pass

Our first Offseason episode this year is primarily NFL draft focused, but we sprinkle in some fun. We kick things off with some film chit chat, TV update, book club update, and yep that’s even more musical chat from David.
Then comes our mid-NFL draft impressions and of course we talk about the QB drama because everyone is. Be sure to listen to Sharayah’s moment of prophecy at the 44 minute mark. It’s the OFFSEASON BABY.

It's our grand finale of season 2! Mostly because we've run out of things to talk about related to the NFL. This one is a lot more basketball heavy than usual- but it's chockfull of your favorite banter. 
David Presents: TikTok Presents: NBA Nicknames! Sharayah ranks them on a scale of *fart noise* to *air horn noise*. We've got some book chit chat, we discuss THE CURSE (lightning crashes). We bring it back around to NFL trades. At least 5 minutes of us attempting to speak Spanish and French to each other was cut, just to make room for even more golden content.

Mock with us, not at us. Or both, it's up to you! We've got our mock drafts rolling for the NFL draft coming up! We recorded this right before the Scouting Combine just to make it extra hard to make educated decisions. David definitely jinxed at least one player into getting injured. 
To get to the meat and potatoes of the episode, first you gotta chew some fat. This time the fat is mostly comprised of movie chit chat, and a little more Musical chit chat than Sharayah was comfortable with. There's also a bit of Rugby, since that's what we said we were going to get into back at the start of all of this.

We also dive into the conspiracy theories surrounding the recent extremely controversial trade in the NBA. Is David a Laker fan now? Someone get Sharayah a time machine to 1999 so she can force young David to zip it about how much he hates them! Ha! Ha! Ha!

What's this? A well put together episode where we almost entirely stick to the intended topics? Indeed! However, one of those topics is simply us planning out our Superbowl menu. So if that's your thing, great! The first 10 minutes will be a delight. We don't judge (except for definitely Sharayah will, she judges you). 
We learned our lesson and didn't dive too deep into the last NFL 2025 Playoff games that took place right after we recorded- thank goodness for that. Instead we chit chat about the recent frenzy of new coach hirings 'round the league.

This episode is so mid. We recorded a week late- so our NFL Playoff Predictions 2025 were made upon the eve of their beginning, and are being posted to you after the Wild Card round surprised almost no one. Except for us, because naturally we made one or two ridiculous choices. And boy oh boy did we make them confidently. 
In true Backward Pass fashion, we've edited this honestly to expose our genius and complete lack there of. 
Before our amazing playoff prophecies, we have some pretty solid chat about recent NFL Head Coach vacancies and what we'd like to see happen with them. Full disclaimer we mention a Beer Bet that we made, and then completely forget to circle back to it.

The NFL needs better Nicknames. Needs them. We have them. This week on the pod David & Sharayah float their Nickname ideas for some of the best in the league (and the not-so-best). 
First up, some early Christmas chit chat- including David's first gift- a Beavers win! Sticking with the winter wonderland theme, we delve into TNF's snowy matchup between Pittsburg and Cleveland. That leads on to some discussion of Jerral Jones Sr., and segues perfectly into our Nickname segment.
